Warm Tidings to all!

Wow these sudden changes in weather sure have us confused don't they!? Winter truly is upon us. While we were enjoying high numbers of attendees at Monday night Workshops thanks in part to those mild temperatures, we only saw a slight drop as the thermometer fell. Remember we are STILL DANCING! And what better way to stay warm and chase those winter doldrums away than to DANCE, DANCE, DANCE!

 We have all been so busy.. . but here's a brief summary of what the Board has been up to.

The Beginners Ball is scheduled for February 1 st. This is wonderful time for all of our Beginner dancers to come out and test your wings. This dance is for YOU! And you are sure to have a wonderful time! All club members are invited to come out to support our class and to join in the fun! As always, finger foods are requested. . We are also looking forward  to supporting fellow clubs with their beginner dances. See the flyers in the back of the hall for dates and locations.

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 24, 2008 2 TO 5PM

Mill-a-round Dance Center 250 Commercial Street, Manchester NH. This is the Bus trip we've been talking about!! Everyone should plan to attend this fun filled afternoon!! It is geared to this years class and it's a BLAST! !

For the more advanced dancer... Tony Oxindine will be calling a DBD dance at the Mill-a-round on February 16 8 to 11 PM

 The King and Queen Ball is also fast approaching and we are looking for a couple to represent Ollf club. If you or anyone you know are interested or would like more information, please let any of the Board members know. This is a great way to get to meet other dancers and to interact with other clubs. All dancers are welcome to attend the Ball. The couple nominated to represent our club will receive free admission to our club dances for the coming year.

The Hospitality committee is looking for some help. Volunteers are needed for the months of February, March and April. The more the merrier!! If you are able to be at the club early on workshop nights and dance nights to help with set up and kitchen duty, please see Marge Barrett or any board member to volunteer.

Exciting news!! We officially have a website!! Check out www.swingingingsquares.com the next time you are online and watch for upcoming news. Many thanks to Steve Dionne for taking on this task and for a great job!!

In the not so distant future, we will be asking club members to participate in the nominating committee. This committee will search out members interested in running for the Board for the upcoming elections to be held in April, and will report to the current Executive Board. This is a great opportunity for members to get to know one another ~ and to nominate those persons truly interested in sitting on the Board. There are 4 positions whose terms expire this year; however some of those people are interested in running again. If you would like more information on either the Board positions or the Nominating Committee please see any Board member.

The Club Picnic is all set for August 31st at Colt State Park...Mark you Calendar for that one, it’s sure to be a Blast!! More details will follow as the time nears.

Special Thanks to all those who have helped with the Kitchen and setting up the hall in recent months! Your help is very much appreciated. . . .Many hands make light the load!

The Executive Board will meet next on Feb. 12 at 7:30PM at Burger King on Rte 44 in Centerdale RI.
